Life has a way of shifting in an instant. One phone call. One decision. One moment of courage (or chaos) and suddenly, nothing is the same again. This October, six remarkable women, from their 20s through to their 70s+, step onto our stage to share the personal stories of the tipping points that changed their lives forever. Expect laughter, goosebumps and those unforgettable moments of connection that Generation Women is known for.
💫 Our Performer Line-up:
Team 20s: Molly Joseph left school at 16 after losing her spark to an eating disorder, beginning a transformational journey of self-discovery and healing. She now runs her own business, Be Bowld, around emotional wellbeing, nourishment and authentic connection.
Team 30s: Alice Zaslavsky is an award-winning author, broadcaster and taste-maker, known for bringing vibrancy and vitality to every plate through great produce and clever cooking. Alice is the author of four internationally bestselling cookbooks, host of TV show A Bite to Eat with Alice and columnist for Good Food and The Guardian.
Team 40s: Balli Kaur Jaswal is the author of six novels including the international bestseller Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows, which was selected by Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club in 2017. Originally from Singapore, she migrated to Australia in her late twenties. Her new novel, The Unpronounceables, will be released next year.
Team 50s: Noe Harsel is an arts producer, executive leader and writer who uses storytelling to explore culture and identity. She has worked with some of Australia’s largest cultural and philanthropic organisations to create creative and lasting impactful projects. Noe has written for a number of publications including The Melbourne Magazine and Broadsheet, and co-hosts the SBS podcast Like Us.
Team 60s: Jo Howard is a social worker and family therapist. She lived in rural NSW for nine years, where she built a mud brick house and rode her horse through forests and along beaches. She raised two children as a solo parent, backpacked across the world and has written and contributed to several books.
Team 70s: Brenda Appleton OAM is a transgender woman who has been active in LGBTQIA+ advocacy in Melbourne for the last 25 years. She was awarded the Voltaire Human Rights Award in 2022, a Victoria Senior of the Year Award 2018 and was inducted onto the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2017.
