Matriarchs, Mentors and Aunties: Stories that Celebrate the Elder Women in our Lives

Every generation has women who light the path. This night is about them.

This February Generation Women Australia: On the Road comes to Kiama sharing stories from six women, over six decades about their grandmothers, mentors and icons who showed us what’s possible.

You’ll laugh, nod along and leave reminded that strength multiplies when it’s shared across generations. If you’ve ever looked up to an older woman and thought, Because of her, I can, this show is for you.

This event is proudly presented in partnership with the South Illawarra Older Women's Network and funded by Create NSW.

💫 Our Performer Line-up:

Team 20s: Sarah Collins is a classical singer from Jamberoo and a fifth-year Bachelor of Music (Performance – Honours) student in classical voice at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She works as an academic assistant on the ARC-funded project The Shock of the Old: Rediscovering the Sounds of Bel Canto 1700–1900, and as a graduate library assistant at The Women’s College, University of Sydney. In 2025, Sarah made her international operatic debut as Amore with the Berlin Opera Academy.

Team 30s: Adara Enthaler is a spoken-word poet living on Dharawal land, and the host of Enough Said Poetry Slam. Her poetry is an irreverent descent into self-love and sensuality, and she has featured at writers festivals, folk festivals, poetry slams and more across NSW. Her writing has appeared in numerous anthologies from Baby Teeth Journal and Heroines Festival, as well as her poetry zines Equidistant (2018) and Crowdsourced Poems (2022).

Team 40s: Angela Blake is the co-founder of SmartFone Flick Fest (SF3), one of the world’s largest smartphone film festivals, now in its 11th year, featuring filmmakers aged 5–79 from over 70 countries. The 2026 edition will be presented at the Sydney Opera House. She is also an Accessible Filmmaking Tutor with Bus Stop Films, where she has created nine award-winning films. An actor, writer and director, Angela is currently writing her second feature film and is passionate about inclusive storytelling and creative community impact.

Team 50s: Lillian Rodrigues-Pang is a bilingual storyteller, performing stories from around the globe. She writes and performs solo and ensemble shows in schools, on festival stages and in theatres around Australia and internationally to critical acclaim. She has 20 years’ experience working with healing stories in the mental health and community setting, has a Masters in teaching and works in education and training globally.

Team 60s: Lynne Strong is a writer and researcher focused on women’s lives, memory and what gets preserved. Her work draws on family history, archives and lived experience to ensure women’s names, labour and influence are recorded, searchable and carried forward across generations.

Team 70s+: Tiang Lim has featured in films, stage and TVC. Tiang is a storyteller, comedian and was NSW state finalist in the Raw comedy festival. She is a member of the Older Women’s Network theatre group, performed a one-woman show Dandelion in Sydney Fringe 2024 and has shared her stories at Generation Women in Sydney and Wollongong. Her qualifications include nursing, a BSc in Psychology, an MBA, and an MSc in Dementia Care and education.
