Six women. Six decades. One theme: the freedom to be exactly who you are. This June, storytellers from their 20s through to their 70s share true, personal stories about love, identity, family and the courage it takes to live out loud — in celebration of Pride Month.

Chloe Padmore

Artist · Writer · Photographer

Chloe Padmore is a queer Dulgubarra-Yidinji artist and writer based in Naarm, with writing featured in Project Loudly and Melbourne City of Literature.

An award-winning photographer with painting and photography showcased in exhibitions, Chloe has a passion for performing through public speaking and stage shows. They collaborate with Merri-bek City Council to run a monthly queer social event.

Jo-danah Munro

Educator · Poet · Advocate

Jo-danah Munro is a queer Māori non-binary person, educator, advocate, poet, painter and gardener who is passionate about ethical living and community care.

She lives with her partner and three dogs, grows much of her own produce, and is currently studying social work. She is deeply committed to creating a more just world for children.

Andrea O'Connor

Writer · Editor

Andrea O'Connor is a Melbourne-based writer and editor whose lifelong relationship with words has been one of expression, survival and self-discovery.

Writing has carried her through the unfolding of identity and sexuality, early motherhood and shifting relationships. She is on a mission to approach the tangled terrain of mid-life with curiosity and grit, while navigating the beautiful mess of living truthfully, in all its forms.

Lucy Best

Comedian · Actor · MC

Lucy Best is an accomplished Australian-based British comedian, actor, MC, writer and producer who regularly performs across Australia and internationally.

Her shows have sold out in major venues across Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. Lucy performs storytelling, comedy, music and theatre with a warmth and wit that keeps audiences coming back.

Peta Murray

Playwright · Author · Senior Lecturer RMIT

Peta Murray is known for her plays Wallflowering and Salt, and her AWGIE-winning work The Keys to the Animal Room.

Her braided memoir How to Dress for Old Age, co-authored with David Carlin, was published earlier this year. A Senior Lecturer at RMIT University, Peta is a faux-Scot with numerous alter egos and far too many hobbies.

Mary Scott

The Confidence Crone · International Speaker

Mary Scott is the Confidence Crone — an international speaker and founder of Mary Scott Influence, with a background as a psychotherapist and 10 years in the online space.

She helps women stop second-guessing themselves, trust their voice and take powerful, aligned action in business, life and leadership.

Doors open 6:30 PM · Show runs 7:00–9:00 PM at Howler, Brunswick. 20min interval – time to connect, if you feel like it.
