Generation Women Melbourne — Dear Me: Stories of advice to my younger/older self

  • Generation Women Melbourne 7-11 Dawson Street Brunswick, VIC, 3056 Australia (map)

💌 Dear Me: The letters we wish we could send

What wisdom do we wish we’d had years ago, and what do we want to remember in the
future? Listen to six storytellers across generations dig deep as they share self-compassion and encouragement to the women they were, and the women they will become.

If you’ve ever thought, I wish I knew then what I know now, this show will hit you in the heart. You’ll laugh, cry and walk away with reminders you didn’t know you needed today.

💫 Our Performer Line-up:

Team 20s: Sophie Hardy is a personal trainer and model who cares deeply about women’s rights. She loves real conversations about things that matter, but she’s just as big on appreciating the little things in life. She tries to stay grounded, positive, and grateful for the people and moments that make life feel full and meaningful.

Team 30s: Kru Harale is a Melbourne-based Comedian, whose vivacious energy crackles through her routine, as she describes her stories about Indians, Australia and globe-trotting. As seen on ABC’s Win The Week, she’s performed with Kitty Flanagan, Dave O’Neil and Anne Edmonds, starred in A Star is Torn, featured in Breast of the Fest and produces Melbourne’s sold-out “Asian Comedy Showcase” and “Comedy Roulette.”

Team 40s: Kate Hansen is a Melbourne-based interiors and architecture photographer bringing thoughtful design to life through her lens. Kate’s images have featured in both on-line and print publications such as - The Design Files, Inside Out, House & Garden, and Home Beautiful Magazine. When not behind the lens, she’s thrifting, painting watercolours, volunteering, hosting lively dinners or belting out a tune in a karaoke bar.

Team 50s: Kerry Pietrobon is a creative multi-hyphenate, fashion consultant and champion of style, confidence and reinvention. With 25+ years in the fashion industry, she brings sharp insight, big heart and a passion for inclusive fashion, good fit and fabulous next chapters.

Team 60s: Nicky Barry is a standup comedian from Naarm/Melbourne. She’s also a storyteller par excellence, fulltime goddess and mother to four wonderful kidults. Nicky has worked for many years in projects supporting marginalised communities. She is a founding member of the Comedy Women’s Association and a passionate practitioner of wanton misbehaviour.

Team 70s+: Australian born Jade Rosina McCutcheon holds a Doctor of Creative Arts from UTS and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Melbourne. Her publications include books, Awakening the Performing Body, Embodied Consciousness Performance Technologies, Narrative in Performance.  Her poetry can be found in anthologies and journals such as Terra Incognita, Beyond Words, SPARX, The Silent World in her Vase.
